What is BCF carpet material

A living room without carpet does not have enough comfort. Usually when buying a product pay attention to its size, color and pattern. However, the composition of the coating also plays an important role. Previously, carpets were made exclusively from natural materials. But technology does not stand still and now materials of artificial origin are used to produce such interior elements. So, synthetic floor coverings are popular. They attract attention with a very bright color and at the same time have a low cost.

The abbreviation BCF indicates that the carpet is made of a synthetic material - polypropylene. Various floor coverings that differ in their characteristics are made from this substance.

BCF fiber is a type of fiber that has not undergone heat treatment, and also did not have any additional effects. Among all synthetic fiber options, this option is the cheapest. It is often used to make inexpensive products. These rugs are ideal for the dirtiest places.

They also have their drawbacks, which you need to know about before purchasing:

  1. BCF fiber has a short life. On average, it is about 4 years.
  2. Polypropylene fiber does not retain heat well.
  3. It is undesirable to put heavy objects on such carpets, especially for a long period. They are strongly deformed, and the pile will recover for a long time.
  4. The carpet does not have good environmental properties.
  5. Fire hazard. Do not place the product near various sources of open flame. Already at a temperature of 150 degrees, the carpet begins to melt.
